This 80 minute slow paced full body stretch will leave your body and mind feeling relaxed and open. We’ll move slowly and hold poses for several breaths to get that gentle stretching sensation that feels so good. Starting from the toes we’ll slowly work our way up the body, targeting all the main areas that may be holding tension from repetitive sport-specific movements. You’ll finish this practice feeling refreshed and with more freedom of movement in your body.
Since this practice is low intensity, it fits in nicely when the intensity of your sport specific training is high. When you’re in the phase of performing a lot of repetitive movements and building a lot of strength, this style of practice can bring well needed balance. It will help you maintain mobility as you continue to strengthen, and it will help you release excessive tension that could be building in your body.
Use this practice as a form of active recovery on a rest day, as cool down after any strength training, to wind down after a big game or practice, or whenever your body is craving a good full body stretch.
