In this 56 minute yoga practice we focus on restoring mobility in the lower half of the body. We begin with a moon salutation, which is different from the traditional sun salutation in the sense that it requires movement in all 3 planes motion. This is especially beneficial for athletes (like runners, or cyclists) that predominantly move in a single plane of motion. This dynamic moon salutation is followed by a slower paced flow where we’ll remain in several poses for a few breaths to promote space and length.
Use this practice when the intensity of your sport specific training is high and the accumulation of tension is more likely. Fit it in after a moderate or intense training day, especially if there was a high demand on the legs, or whenever you’re craving a good lower body stretch.
